Our Story
Great Virtue Trading Limited was incorporated in Hong Kong on 28 August 2019, with its registered and principal office at Flat 1103, No. 88 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai. As one of the world's most important free ports and international financial centres, Hong Kong offers mature trade infrastructure, free capital flows and a robust legal system — exceptional conditions for cross-border commodity trading.
Our name, "Hou De" (厚德), originates from the I Ching: "As the earth's condition is receptive devotion, the superior person carries all things with generous virtue." This embodies our core philosophy of integrity-first, honest business. Since inception, we have focused on commodity trading across metals & minerals, agricultural products and energy, building efficient, transparent and reliable trade bridges between suppliers and buyers.

Great Virtue Trading Limited holds a Category A Certificate of Registration as a dealer in precious metals and stones, issued by the Hong Kong Customs under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615).

Under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615), a specified transaction is a precious metals and stones transaction in respect of which a payment or payments totalling not less than HK$120,000 (or an equivalent amount in another currency) is or are made or received in Hong Kong by any means other than cash. It covers trading, import and export, manufacturing, refining and value-adding work.
A Category A registrant may carry out specified transactions in the course of business, but must not carry out specified cash transactions — the same transactions settled in cash in Hong Kong where the total is HK$120,000 or more. Transactions below HK$120,000 fall outside the registration regime.
As a Category A registrant, Great Virtue Trading Limited is not subject to the AML/CTF requirements set out in Schedule 2 to the Ordinance, and is subject to statutory obligations such as displaying its certificate of registration and notifying changes in particulars.
Risk & Compliance
Commodity prices fluctuate constantly. We define pricing benchmarks and premium structures in contracts and, where appropriate, manage price exposure through hedging instruments.
Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and due diligence procedures apply to all upstream and downstream partners. As a Hong Kong Customs Category A registrant, we fully comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615).
Trade documents (bills of lading, certificates of origin, inspection certificates) are kept consistent with contracts, logistics and cash flows, ensuring compliant and traceable customs, trade-finance and tax treatment.
